The 2015 Integration Segment, chaired by His Excellency Vladimir Drobnjak, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the United Nations and Vice-President of ECOSOC, brought together Heads of States and Governments, ministers, governors, mayors, the United Nations system, the tripartite constituents of the International Labour Organization, civil society, academia and the private sector. Speakers included Stefan Löfven, Prime Minister of Sweden, Guy Ryder, Director-General of the International Labour Organization, Nobel Laureate Dr. Joseph Stiglitz, and Sharon Burrows, General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation.
The Integration Segment focused on “achieving sustainable development through employment creation and decent work for all.” The Segment endeavored to demonstrate how the creation of good quality jobs could be a tool for promoting the economic, social and environmental aspects of sustainable development. The Segment also served as a platform to identify policy choices and possible trade-offs that could arise from an integrated approach.
