Just Jobs: A New Agenda for Inclusive Growth

Date: October 9, 2014 | 9:30 AM – 6 PM

Venue: 2507 Foxhall Road, Washington D.C

The term “inclusive growth” has found its way into the rhetoric of governments, development agencies, and international financial institutions, but the specifics of an inclusive growth agenda are still largely undefined. An effective and sustainable agenda for inclusive growth must center on creating jobs with appropriate remuneration, basic rights, and opportunities for economic mobility. Only by considering the jobs dimension of key social and economic phenomena – trade and investment, migration, demographic shifts, and climate change – can countries fashion an economic model that is truly inclusive and sustainable.

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the JustJobs Network (JJN) would like to invite you to “Just Jobs: A New Agenda for Inclusive Growth” – a day-long conference hosted by H.E. Ambassador Kåre R. Aas at his residence. The conference will facilitate policy dialogue among a diversity of stakeholders and showcase several new reports by the JustJobs Network including the “Global JustJobs Index (2014)” and “Overcoming the Youth Employment Crisis: Strategies from Around the Globe,” the first ever joint report by all of JJN’s global partners.

R.S.V.P. to meenasarkar@justjobsnetwork.org. We hope you will be able to join us for this important dialogue.
