As an economist at the JustJobs Network, Irfan is responsible for carrying out empirical research on topics ranging from economic growth to job quality in both developing and developed countries.
Irfan earned a PhD degree in economics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore, in 2015. Prior to joining Just Jobs Network, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He has also taught economics at the Central University of Karnataka.
Irfan was awarded the Labour Economics Award for Young South Asian Scholars 2015 by the South Asia Research Network (SARNET) for his research work. He has focused his research mainly on labor market regulations in India. He has published 13 research papers in reputed international journals including the International Labour Review, Empirica, Labor Studies Journal, South Asia Economic Journal, Asian Journal of Law and Economics and Foreign Trade Review.
His research interests include Industrial Economics, Labour Economics and Econometrics.
