The JustJobs Index (JJI) is a comprehensive, data-driven approach to measuring the quantity and quality of jobs around the world. The 2014 JJI ranks countries on one of the most important metrics of economic success: just job creation.

While a fair bit of data is actually available online, it's not in a machine readable format. The data is either in a .pdf file or inside tables on multiple web pages. Data available in these formats is difficult to analyze as it usually cannot be read by any statistical software.

The European Union JustJobs Index is intended as a starting point to initiate a discussion and attract interest on policy issues related to jobs and creation of quality jobs in a European context. The availability of data in the European Union allows for the inclusion of more relevant indicators than in the global index, and provides an opportunity for exploring rich and valid insights into JustJobs performance using the EU JustJobs Index.
