This report examines the extent to which strategies for building and supporting a digital economy facilitate the empowerment of women and girls within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with a case-based focus on Egypt.

This factsheet visualises labor market indicators for Egypt, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates and provides critical information about education and skilling ecosystems in these countries.

This brief offers a gender perspective into the study of impact of digital transformations, in the form of artificial intelligence and automation, on labour force participation and skilling ecosystems of Middle East and North Africa region.

The JustJobs Network team has collaborated with the Future of Work in the Global South, to examine the platform economy workers in the global South. The findings and recommendations of this paper aim to improve policymakers’ access to data on platform economy work and, second, on using that information to design integrated systems of taxation and social protection and develop appropriate legal definitions of platform services and workers.
